Praise the Lord!
We have a number of changes taking place due to Covid 19, the first of which is that Public Health Sudbury and District is now requiring the use of masks in all commercial buildings, including churches. Since this has been our policy for some time, there should be very few noticeable changes. I do wish to point out a number of exceptions, which you can also find at phsd.ca.
"The Face Covering must be worn inside the premises at all times, unless it is reasonably required to temporarily remove the Face Covering for services provided by the Establishment (emphasis added). A Person shall be exempt from wearing a Face Covering on the premises if:
a. The Person is a child under the age of two years; or a child under the age of 5 years either chronologically or developmentally and he or she refuses to wear a face covering and cannot be persuaded to do so by their caregiver;
b. The Person is incapacitated and unable to remove their mask without assistance;
c. Wearing a Face Covering would inhibit the Person’s ability to breathe in any way;
d. For any other medical reason, the Person cannot safely wear a Face Covering such as, but not limited to, respiratory disease, cognitive difficulties or difficulties in hearing or processing information.
e. For any religious reason, the Person cannot wear a face covering, or cannot cover the face in a manner that would properly control source."
Although masks will be provided to every person entering the building who does not have one, we will also show respect to those who are unable to wear one. In order to provide services such as preaching, teaching, and worship leading, the platform also remains exempt while providing these services.
Please do not allow any of these restrictions to keep you from attending! If you have any concerns, please contact me.
Secondly, we are restarting our Sunday School starting on July 19, (10 to 12-year-old class one week later). Due to room capacity restrictions, we will be rotating students during service using the following schedule:
-ages 3-9, 5 kids between 10:00 to 10:30 and 5 more from 10:30 to 11:00.
-(starting July 26), Ages 10-12, 4 kids, one class from 10:00 to 11:00.
-Teen class, 7 kids, from 10:00 to 11:00.
As more families return to church, we may modify this schedule going forward.
Thirdly, several of you have been asking about our Ontario District camps this year. Unfortunately, Family camp, Junior camp, and Youth camp have all been cancelled. Men's Empowerment Conference has been rescheduled for Oct 8-10.
Finally, although we are open for services, we are still broadcasting online for those unable to attend in person. There is a midweek Bible study posted online, and we have a Bible study at the church every Wednesday evening at 7:00. Sunday morning services are broadcast live from our Facebook page and rebroadcast through our website. Sunday evening service is still hosted in Zoom only.
God Bless!
